Welcome back!

Dear teachers, TA’s and students,

Welcome back after a short Easter break! I hope you all had a lovely time with family and friends and are ready to be back and start blogging instead of writing!

Yes blogging!!!! After a short training day on Monday, the school is looking for some volunteers who would be willing to write about exiting things in our school every day. If you interested please inform your class teacher directly. Have fun!!!! 🙂

So the journey begins.

Three stars and a wish..

Surviving one of the longest terms in the history of teaching, was one of my greatest achievements! It was something to do with a time flux, which meant the term was elongated to the expanse of a year! This, after the solar eclipse, was a frightening and potentially scary event.

Fortunately, being the consummate professional I am, I had the resilience to plan, deliver, be chirpy for, care, mark, feedback, talk, nurture, embed, adapt for the difficult, unplanned 10 months, which the term clearly was. There can be no explanation for the exhaustion. Luckily, the holiday suffered the same chronological anomaly!

We are concerned, however, about the potential for this unprecedented occurrence elongating the Summer term. That said, it may be useful with all the things we have to squeeze in!

Can you offer us some help and advice on how to avoid this? Science welcomed!

Movie Quotes!

“Sunnyside is a place of ruin and despair, ruled by an evil bear who smells of strawberries!”
Toy Story 3 (2010)

  • What’s your favourite? Please tell us!

We are in the lovely seaside town of Torquay in a lovely nook of South Devon, UK. If you are a seaside town, please let us know where you are in the world!

Who can we find who is the furthest away in the world? You can win the wonderful opportunity of working with our Year 3 class (aged 7-8) on the Seaside topic we’ll be studying this term.

We are also making fruit (yes, FRUIT!) cocktails with the children and we will need exotic names for these. Please help!

We live in a very beautiful part of England and unfortunately we don’t fully appreciate our area when we live here but it has amazing sites and places to visit. Have a nice day.

We’re going on a bear hunt…

This half term we are exploring and learning about the story “We’re going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen.  If anybody has or knows any songs related to the book please could you comment. If we get lost on our hunt please feel free to come and find us. Thank you.

King Midas and Nail Soup

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone has any great ideas of how to inspire writing through using these two Pie Corbett stories?  I would appreciate any comments. Thanks

Holiday topic

In Year 3, we will be comparing seaside holidays and will be hooking the children in by making fruit cocktails this week. We are looking forward to seeing what fruit cocktails the children come up with and how they taste :/ Mr B is currently running a seaside enquiry/competition to see how far away he can find a seaside to compare. orange-strawberry-peach-cocktails
